JVC helps bring Oscar action to life

The Polish division of CANAL PLUS television recently purchased a JVC DT-3D24G1 monitor for use in their 3D coverage of the 2012 Academy awards in February. After a long testing process and comparison with models from other manufacturers the station decided to expand its present setup of JVC 2D monitors with the DT-3D24G1 (the newest generation of stereoscopic monitor from JVC with built-in measurement features).

The monitor was used for the first time during Canal Plus' live Oscars night 2012 coverage broadcast in 3D from Los Angeles and mixed together in the stereoscopic studio of CANAL PLUS CYFROWY located in the station's newest building in Warsaw. The JVC DT-3D24G1 3D monitor has also been used for cameras/rigs calibration. It was used in this critical live application because the final 3D signal needed to be checked by the vision director in stereoscopic space during use of the stereoscopic studio and live content checking. “We decided to purchase the JVC stereoscopic monitor because its offering of measurement features such as markers, grid and dual waveform is very important for camera/rigs calibration and it produced a crystal clear 3D picture with superb blacks“ the engineers of CANAL PLUS said.

The monitor will be used in the future for all 3D productions for the station's new channel called CANAL PLUS 3D. The DT-3D 24G1 monitor was supplied by the biggest Polish broadcast systems integrator, JVC professional dealer and systems integrator - JBD SA.
