GY-HM650 goes on a Norwegian snowkiting adventure

Filmmakers, Roy van Baarsen and Thomas Donker, have used their JVC GY-HM650 ProHD camcorder to capture footage of their Norwegian snowkiting adventure. This exciting outdoor winter sport, where people use kite power to glide on snow or ice, is on the rise, and the GY-HM650 offered the ideal weight-to-performance ratio for capturing this experience.

Roy and Thomas travelled to Hardangervidda, a mountain plateau in central southern Norway and a perfect location for snowkiting. They liked the GY-HM650 as it's a small, lightweight camera with a professional wide-angle 23x autofocus zoom lens, delivering superb images even in low-light. “I captured beautiful footage from the top of the mountains” explains Roy, “since the camera offered excellent optics for a variety of shooting environments, providing a great image.”
Roy and Thomas were also joined by professional kiters, Max Lux and Joey Oldenburger, whose snowkiting skills were filmed with the GY-HM650. Roy adds, “I was extremely happy with the camera's image stability, especially when capturing action shots of Max and Joey gliding through the snow, performing freestyle tricks and cliff jumping. The camera is very robust and can handle a bump and some snow and I can even operate it wearing thick gloves. It's an impressive creative tool.”
