GY-HM600 films ITF Pro Tennis Tournament in Mauritius

Kingdome Productions Ltd., a media production company based in Trianon, Mauritius, has purchased five GY-HM600 ENG camcorders from reseller Paoma Ltd. to record live, multi-camera events including the first ITF Pro Tennis Tournament that took place on 15-21 June 2015 and the second tournament on the 22-28 June 2015. Kingdome Productions creates high quality media productions for TV and radio networks, primarily in Africa; going forward, they plan to use the GY-HM600 on a global scale for conferences, studio documentaries and outside broadcast events. Paoma Ltd designed the whole workflow for Kingdome Productions and recommended JVC cameras for their price and functions.

Before purchasing the GY-HM600 camcorders, Kingdome Productions used tape-based cameras. "SD cards are cheap and we were wasting a lot of our media budget on mini DV tapes," says Johan Sévétian from the company. "Switching to a tapeless workflow with the GY-HM600 cameras has proved extremely cost effective and has improved our capturing time."  Having never used JVC cameras before, Kingdome Productions were initially apprehensive about trying a new brand, however they are now extremely happy with the GY-HM600's features, performance and design and enjoy using them. "We wanted a portable camera, robust enough to sustain the tough operating conditions we experience. On top of this, we wanted a camera with a long battery life because we are always travelling between locations - the GY-HM600 was the perfect choice."
